I started 2020 with the aim of overhauling my fitness, I’d spent far too long ignoring the fact that my clothes were too tight and I was ready to buy the next size up. My diet was full of home-cooked food that was full of carbohydrates finished off with a glass of wine most nights. Let’s be clear, I have NEVER liked fitness, it just wasn’t for me and mainly born from a negative mentality of thinking ‘I can’t do that’ and ‘I’m just not that type of person’. I was kidding myself.

This week we’ve been baking, trying to make something out of nothing with varying successes. With no self-raising flour in the house and no hope of finding it available in the shops, we turned to plain flour recipes.

It is almost unimaginable to find ourselves in this strange new world so suddenly. Just a few weeks ago, there was so much to look forward to, especially for those whose longed-planned weddings were finally on the horizon this year.
