We meet Amelia at her gorgeous sun-drenched home in the St. John’s area of Tunbridge Wells one Saturday morning, the bay fronted windows pour light across the living room floor and into the rooms beyond. The space is a mix of playful minimalism, bright abstract art, and eclectic trinkets galore!
Amelia is an Interior Designer working with clients to re-imagine and design their interiors with meticulous attention to detail and creativity in abundance. She hand-picks furniture and props to suit their intended space and purpose and inspire those who will interact with it.
Her style is derived from years of observing abstract art in its many guises, her love of Picasso and Matisse are obvious throughout her projects and she enjoys experimenting with pops of vivid colour against neutral backgrounds. Amelia says; “To work with colour and form is a dream come true, to see my creative visions come to life fills me with joy!”.
With a degree in Fashion Design from Nottingham Trent University and years of hands on experience working in retail as a Visual Merchandiser she’s not afraid to completely change the layout of a space making homes flow with effortless ease and style.
Her work is continually inspired by her travels around the world and more specifically Morocco, she’s visited several times and always takes elements from each visit into her work, a bright pom-pom cushion trim here, an antique chair made by a local craftsman there.
Amelia sells a collection of Moroccan cushions sourced on her travels These unique one off pieces can be purchased from her Etsy shop (details below).
Other inspiration comes from Pinterest, Instagram and home styling magazines, she’s spoilt for resources and has the unique ability to absorb trends and apply them to each individual project.
Her office is her home and she works throughout Tunbridge Wells, Kent and beyond. She also offers an online interior design service which can be accessed globally. Her services span 2D Design to home staging and styling.
Amelia has lived in Tunbridge Wells since she was a child, she loves the creative buzz found in local independents, gigs and workshops. When she is not working she loves running in Dunorlan Park, enjoying Jazz on the Pantiles and meals out at the Giggling Squid.
