GIRL TRIBE GANG

On the second Wednesday of each month at The Townhouse wine bar, award-winning Girl Tribe Gang get together for their monthly meet up. This female collective of business owners, side hustlers, and aspiring entrepreneurs come together to connect with like-minded women in the local community with a more laid-back approach to networking events.

Girl Tribe Gang aims to provide women with an alternative to traditional corporate network events. There are no 6am breakfast meetings, no name tags, and no powerpoint presentations which can often be intimidating and too formal. Catherine Asta Labbett, the founder of Girl Tribe Gang, explains: “There is a whole generation of women who are taking risks and following their dreams and we are a hidden workforce. We are a workforce that connects predominantly on social media, but we need more ‘real life’ connection and to be connecting with the right people who are going through similar things.”

The Girl Tribe Gang, featured on BBC Business, is on a mission to reduce loneliness amongst women who are working alone from their homes. Working for yourself has many benefits such as being able to work around your family and following your passions, however, working from your kitchen table or sofa every day can become lonely and isolating. Girl Tribe Gang aims to reduce these negative feelings and champion the mental health and wellbeing of this strong workforce of women.

Girl Tribe Gang Tunbridge Wells

Rachel Letham, Success Coach and Wellness Entrepreneur, leads the Tunbridge Wells Tribe of Girl Tribe Gang. Rachel qualified as a certified coach and launched her own business and career success coaching business in 2018. Addressing the issue of loneliness, Rachel Letham said: ”I’m reaching out to find all those like-minded women in my community, women who are working from their kitchen table or home office doing work that works for them and bringing everyone together. Girl Tribe Gang is all about creating a community of like-minded women, a level playing field and an eco-system of support and encouragement amongst women who totally get what it feels like to be on your own in business, or aspiring to one day quit the 9-5.”

Each meeting features a Power Hour, where a local business woman will speak about their journey of starting a business including any challenges they have come across and any advice they can share. For anyone with a business, or thinking of possibly starting one, this experience and information is priceless!

Rachel invites women based in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding area to join her to connect with other local women who work for themselves or who have aspirations to quit the 9-5.
