Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of spending a most delightful afternoon just outside Tunbridge Wells, celebrating the launch of nutritionist Emily English’s brand new book. Known to many as @emthenutritionist, Emily has built a devoted following thanks to her fresh, accessible approach to food, and her celebration event was every bit as thoughtful and beautifully curated as you might expect.

To mark their one-year anniversary, Palette is hosting a special art exhibition launch and celebration on Saturday 3rd August, from 12–4pm, and the whole community is invited.

The highly anticipated independent, female-owned restaurant, Shwen Shwen by Maria Bradford opens its doors on 6th June 2025. The debut restaurant from award-winning chef and author Maria Bradford brings the bold and vibrant flavours of Sierra Leone to the historic market town of Sevenoaks, Kent.

Last night I returned to The Counter, and it was every bit as special as I remembered. I first met Chef Robin Read back in 2022, when he was running a pop-up in Rusthall. Fast forward to today, and he’s made his mark with his very own restaurant at 77 Calverley Road in Tunbridge Wells.

As part of our ‘staycation’ series, we were kindly invited to spend a night at the Old School Cottage, a beautifully renovated building situated behind The Dorset Arms on the Buckhurst Estate in Withyham. Set deep within the English countryside lies The Dorset Arms, an 18th Century public house owned by the De La Warr family.
